All Eyes On Reasi: A Bad Day for Hindus

 

The calmness of a trip suddenly turned into a terrifying and tragic nightmare in a heartbreaking series of events. When a bus bringing pilgrims to the famed Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir veered off a mountain road and plunged into a deep gorge, at least ten lives were lost in a horrific act of violence. The reason? a nasty terrorist ambush in Reasi where they mercilessly opened fire on gullible devotees.

The tragedy that is taking place in the Poni area's Teryath village has rocked the area to its foundation. Witnesses describe a horrifying scene as the bus was hit by continuous gunfire while traveling from Shiv Khori to Katra. The attackers reportedly shot more than 50 bullets, disrupting the passengers' quiet ride. After being hit by the bombardment, the driver lost control, causing the bus to plummet down the dangerous hill.

Rescue operations happened quickly, combining forces from the army, the local police, and paramilitary groups that were quickly deployed. Their efforts were heroic, but the cost was terrible. Families were destroyed, ambitions were dashed, and a town was left in shock and sorrow.

In the meantime, different scenes were playing out in the country's capital while the word spread throughout the valley. In Delhi, amid the ceremony of ministerial oaths at Rashtrapati Bhavan, there is no greater contrast than this one between pride in the country and personal sorrow.
